Busy, busy, busy!

I am not complaining about being busy!  What an exciting feeling it is to be busy week in and week out, and hopefully it will continue and only get busier! 

When I stepped out in faith last year and decided to finally go into business for myself, I didn’t have a clue when the phone would ring or where clientele might come from.  But thankfully, by the grace of God, the phone is ringing, and people are showing up.  Each week I am delighted to see the fan (or like) base on Facebook is growing, and more and more people are finding this little blog.  People are contacting me and booking vacations, and all I can say is thank you!  Thank you to those who have referred me to their family or friends.  Thank you to those who were willing to take a chance on a small business guy.  Thank you to God for blessing my business in this way. 

Is my business big?  By no means is it – but it’s growing, and that’s exactly what I was hoping for.  As I sit here looking at charts and graphs from my Business Plan, as well as projections and budgets for 2013 – I am dumb-founded to see where I was just a year ago and where I am today.  I can only pray that by this time next year – we’ll be so much farther ahead. 

Sure it can be overwhelming at times when you are a one-man show, but that just means you have to be careful with your time and really be on top of everything.  I’ve definitely increased in my appreciation for the days when I simply turned in an expense report and didn’t think about it again until the funds were deposited in my bank account, or when I turned in a support request to the I.T. department and soon enough someone was taking care of my computer issues.  Those things are “mine” now, and I have to deal with them along with marketing, finance, sales and everything else.  But I must admit I am enjoying doing a bit of it all.  I might not be quite as quick about the I.T. repairs, or the finance reports as an entire department might be, but they do get done.   And I have the satisfaction of doing them. 

So those of you who I once interacted with on a regular basis over on the DIS or other forums – yeah, I miss our banter and fun – but I wouldn’t trade this for anything!   I’ve got a FULL week ahead, and have to get a jump on the day, so I’ll be signing off here for now – but know that I think of you and hope that you’ll stop by my place every-so-often and check out the articles, postings and pictures – and comment from time to time… just so I know you’re there.  It’s great to see the traffic reports, but it’s even better to actually know that someone is out there reading my stuff.  :-)  Those comments kind of keep me going, instead of making me think I'm staring at this little glowing screen for nothing.  I'd love to hear from you!
