Featured Foto Friday - Grand Californian Christmas Tree

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa  at the Disneyland Resort celebrates the Christmas / holiday season in grand style.  The soaring Christmas tree fills the center of the lobby each year, and is filled with beautiful decorations, themed with decorations celebrating the arts and crafts movement just as the hotel is designed in.

Featured Foto Friday - Gingerbread Splendor!

This magnificent Gingerbread House is found at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.  It's an annual tradition at the Walt Disney World Resort to see beautiful gingerbread creations throughout numerous Deluxe level resorts.  This image was captured in December 2010.

Featured Foto Friday - Cinderella's Royal Table

Guests dine amid medieval splendor inside Cinderella's Royal Table These hand-stitched banners have been hanging above guests since the restaurant first opened inside the castle in the Magic Kingdom in 1971.  It was originally known as King Stephan's Banquet Hall when the park first opened.

Featured Foto Friday - Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue

Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is a fun-filled dinner show inside Pioneer Hall at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  It has been in its near original format since it premiered in 1973.  The dinner is an all-you-care-to-eat family-style meal filled with fried chicken, cornbread, beans and other tasty selections.  It's corny at times, but a very fun performance.

Featured Foto Friday - Disney's Vero Beach Resort

This view is from the room that I had at Disney's Vero Beach Resort last December.  I was staying in a studio room in the main building, directly overlooking the ocean.  It was my first stay at Vero Beach, and definitely one that made me want to return again.  I love the ocean, and any time I have an ocean view room, my stay at any hotel or resort is automatically better!

Featured Foto Friday - Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort

These fantastic hammocks await you at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, underneath some remarkable century-old oak trees.  They provide a perfect way to relax, either individually or with that special someone at your side.

Featured Foto Friday - 'Ama 'Ama; Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa

This is the view from 'Ama 'Ama, one of two table service restaurants at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii. It's a wonderful place to enjoy any meal, but here I took this shot while enjoying a delicious breakfast.

Featured Foto Friday - Single Soarin'

Single Rider Pass for Soarin' Over California at Disney California Adventure...
definitely something they ought to have at Soarin' at Epcot.
Soarin' - whether it's Soarin' Over California as at Disney California Adventure - or just plain Soarin' as at Epcot... is one of my all-time favorite attractions.  I have loved it since it first opened up at DCA in 2001.  I loved it when I first heard that news that it would open at Epcot in 2005, and I always want to ride it when in those parks.

But there's one huge difference between the two parks... I can ride it as a Single Rider at DCA, but not at Epcot.  That is such a wonderful thing, especially when on my various solo treks to the parks.  Epcot did, for a short time, have a Single Rider line, but quickly did away with it.  I sure wish they would bring it back.

Featured Foto Friday - Mad Tea Party

The Mad Tea Party - Disneyland
The Mad Tea Party at Disneyland, is certainly different in appearance than at Walt Disney World's version at the Magic Kingdom - there's no roof!  Yes, the attraction is completely outdoors, and completely exposed to the elements - but when you don't have an afternoon rainfall nearly everyday, there's really no need for the covering.

One of my favorite aspects of the attraction has to be the lanterns strung overhead across the turntable.  At nighttime they are just oh so charming.

Featured Foto Friday - Disneyland Hotel's Water Slides

Monorail Slides at the Disneyland Hotel, next to the E-Ticket Pool
2012 saw the completion of the complete renovation at the Disneyland Hotel, begun back in 2009.  Each tower was completely redone from the inside out.  All the rooms were gutted, and modernized.  They were each rethemed to match the lands at the park across the road... the towers are now the Adventure, Frontier and Fantasy.  To celebrate Tomorrow, the pool complex was redone, with the main pool being named the E-Ticket, the secondary pool the D-Ticket, and these new slides - the Monorail Slides being added in.  At nighttime - the sign, which is a nod to the original sign that welcomed park guests to Disneyland's parking lot from 1955 to 1995 (when it was replaced with a newer marquee sign with light-up board underneath for writing messages) - lights up with beautiful reds, blues and purples, and the waterfall takes on a special shimmer.    The towers form a U shape, with the pool complex in the middle.  The back side of the U finds the Hotel's Convention Center, along with shops and restaurants.
